Quality Automotive Service

How many of you have an automotive repair facility that you can actually trust? A good place that you feel that you can take your car, leave it, and not have to worry about being ripped off? Let's face it that is something that not very many people have but every one wants. I decided to write this blog to not only try and help people try and find a good repair facility, but also try and educate them a little on their cars. I would do this for two reasons really. The first being that the more you know about your car the less likely someone can take advantage of you. The second being that if the problem you are having seems to be a minor problem then chances are you can fix it yourself. Being able to fix the small problems yourself would save you some money. In this economy, we all could benefit from saving a little money.

I am going to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. In doing so I am hoping that it will give my blog credit. I have been tinkering with cars for the past fourteen years now. Since I was given a 1965 Mustang for my fifteenth birthday. I am an automotive technician (mechanic) as well as a salesperson at a very reputable shop in the Olympia Washington area. I have been working in the automotive field for 11 years now. I have an associates degree in the automotive repair field, as well as being ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified.

With all of that being said, we can now get into finding a quality automotive repair facility. We will cover topics like what you should be on the look out for and what are the signs that you have found a good repair shop. We will also talk about what kind of questions you should ask, as well as what kind of questions the service writer (person who writes the repair order, communicates them to the technician and estimates final costs for the customer) should be asking you. We will also talk about what kind of information helps the technician find the problem faster. That can not only help save in the turn around time of a job, but also it could save you a little money!
